Leadership

ABOUT ME

I am tremendously excited to be living my dream having the opportunity to share my passion for, experiences in, and insight on character development, conflict resolution, and leadership with students all across the country through Taylor Watts Leadership.

By day, I serve as the Associate Director of Bands at Kell High School after having graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia Honors Program with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. As a leadership specialist, I have already been blessed to work with many outstanding music programs and districts including Harrison HS, Lassiter HS, Lincoln Way HS, and the Olathe School District as well as alongside the staff of the Music For All Summer Symposium Drum Major Institute, George N. Parks Drum Major Academy, UGA Summer Marching Drum Major Camp, Georgia State University Student Leadership Institute, Texas A&M-Commerce Drum Major Camp, and Western Carolina University Summer Symposium – focusing on widening students’ situational perspective while helping them develop communication and interpretation skills to positively inspire change in others.

In my down time, I enjoy rock climbing, gaming, and spending time with my loving wife, Caitlin, and our adorable troupe of animal companions.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"We were thrilled to have Mr. Taylor Watts come visit with our students in the Olathe (KS) School District.  Taylor has a wealth of knowledge in leadership psychology and sociology.  He is masterful at relaying information to students in a manner that they truly understand and can relate to.  His energy and presentation is incredibly captivating, contagious, and inspirational.  Throughout his sessions, he presented activities and situations that allowed students to practice leadership skills, create meaningful interactions, and discuss the practical applications of different angles and approaches within those situations.  The students and directors in our district learned many great tactics of leadership that we are still utilizing and benefiting from as our school year progresses - even beyond the marching band season.  If you are looking for a practical, refreshing, and energizing boost to your leadership program, consider reaching out to Taylor Watts to scheduled leadership sessions for your group!  He will help equip your students with many tools necessary to become people-centered leaders and motivators in your school!
